prevent graphic driver update by Windows update to prevent BSOD VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE
My system info:
Microsoft Windows update has updated my graphics driver for Intel® Arc™ A370M Graphics to:
- Provider: Intel Corporation
- Version: 31.0.101.4255
- Date: Mar/16/2023
and perhaps other drivers, the update link is https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/ScopedViewInline.aspx?updateid=53a4dd15-134b-475c-b6ac-c392a543b9f3#Overview
Each time I uninstall the driver(s) and re-install the Lenovo OEM graphic drivers (older), Microsoft eventually re-installs this newer driver.
While on this newer driver I am getting various BSODs, such as today's BSOD VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE
The latest mini dump file is https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HiSBqstpiamsDQ_4UBMAVsy81E-4QiUI/view?usp=sharing
How can I stop Microsoft Windows update from re-installing this newer driver after I remove it and restore the Lenovo recommended drivers?
Do I need to tell Microsoft (besides this discussion), that the driver is not compactable with my Lenovo device?
Hi Melutovich,
Can you try this workaround?
- Install the Lenovo OEM graphic drivers (older)
- Let Windows update the driver
- Device Manager > Display adapters > Select the adapter > Properties > Driver tab > Roll Back Driver
