Preparing for Windows Update
I’m running into a frustrating issue with my computer during the Windows Update process. Whenever I try to update my system, it gets stuck on the "Preparing for Windows Update" screen. I've let it sit there for a long time, but it never seems to progress. I’ve tried rebooting my PC, checking my internet connection, and even running the Windows Update troubleshooter, but nothing has worked.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, do you have any suggestions on how to resolve it?

Shut down the computer and reboot the router. It is network issue.

Getting stuck on the "Preparing for Windows Update" screen can be a frustrating experience. This issue can occur due to various reasons such as corrupted update files, conflicts with software, or even issues with the Windows Update service itself.

Before installing any updates, it's wise to back up your important files and documents to avoid any potential data loss. Backup Options:
- Use File History for a backup: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Backup > Add a drive and select your backup drive.
- Manually copy files to an external hard drive or use cloud services like OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox.
Check for Available Updates. You can manually check for updates before installing them.Setting Up a Check:
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Go to Update & Security.
- Click on Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates. This will let you see if any updates are pending that need to be downloaded.
