Opening links in the "Recommended" section of W11's startmenu

I have gotten used to the recommended section to quickly open Excel files that I frequently use. It's one click faster than opening Excel and then from within Excel opening the recent file.

However, something has changed where opening a file from the recommended section of the start menu asks for my log in credentials (docs.live.net) even though it's a file locally accessible. Even when I fill in my credentials the opening of such files now requires a download to open the "online" file in my local Excel. Which takes up a few extra seconds and is now a much slower process then opening Excel and opening the (local) file from the "recent" section within Excel.

Is anyone familiar with this? And is there a setting to make Windows open the files in the recommended section "locally"?
