Old Display Driver version Continues to Appear in Windows Update Advanced Option
I have noticed an issue related to the display driver in Windows 11 Pro version 25H2. The same driver version repeatedly appears under Windows Update > Advanced Options, even after I have installed a newer version of the display driver.
To explain the issue in detail: I initially installed the display driver completely through Windows Update under the Advanced Options section. During the installation process, after reaching a certain stage, I downloaded and installed the latest version of the display driver directly from my processor manufacturer's official website. After the installation was completed, I checked Windows Update > Advanced Options again, but the same driver version was still being displayed there.
I contacted Microsoft several times regarding this issue. I was told that the message or driver entry would disappear from that section after approximately one month. However, this did not happen in practice.
I then downloaded the latest version of Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) and followed the recommended procedure to completely uninstall the display driver. After that, I reinstalled the driver using the same procedure, but there was still no change. Whenever the display driver version changes, the same previous driver version continues to appear automatically under Advanced Options.
I even completely formatted the NVMe Gen4 SSD on which Windows had previously been installed and performed a completely fresh installation of Windows 11 Pro using a USB flash drive. I then repeated the entire process from the beginning. Despite this clean installation, the same issue continued to occur.
There are also certain issues that appear to be related to Windows services or Windows itself, but unfortunately, service providers do not always acknowledge such issues. I find this quite disappointing.
One important example was the network driver issue during the installation of Windows 11 Pro using a USB flash drive. During the Windows installation process, a network driver was required, but there was no clear option provided on the installation screen to install the required network driver. I informed Microsoft representatives about this issue several times and explained that Windows was asking for a network driver while not providing a proper method or option to install one at that stage.
As a workaround, I had to use a bypass method to proceed with the Windows installation. I also reported this issue to Microsoft representatives several times.
Previously, I did not know how to properly submit and document these types of issues through the appropriate channel, so I had to rely on live chat or direct contact with Microsoft representatives. Now that I have a better understanding of how to report these issues through the appropriate system, I am providing the complete details here so that the problem can be properly investigated and documented.
I would appreciate it if this issue could be reviewed carefully, particularly why the same display driver version continues to appear under Windows Update > Advanced Options even after installing a newer driver, using DDU, and performing a completely clean installation of Windows 11 Pro.

Your issue with the network driver being required during Windows 11 Pro setup is a well-known challenge. The setup process often lacks the built-in drivers for newer networking hardware, especially for Wi-Fi and some Ethernet chipsets .

By searching Google, Reddit & Facebook for this type of network Driver problem, it appears that many other users have experienced similar issues.
The images were downloaded from the internet. By examining them, it should be clear what the problem was. In the previous version, there was no option at all to install a network driver during the Windows setup process. This option is now available in the current version. Since I am using the new version and the option to install a network driver is now provided, I do not have any issue in this regard. I was simply sharing my previous experience with you for reference.
Don't have to worry about this. Just make sure you have proper new version installed and as for this old version show by windows, just try to hide it and it won't appears. To do it:
- Download Microsoft Update Hide Tool (wushowhide.diagcab) - https://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/2/f22d5fdb-59cd-4275-8c95-1be17bf70b21/wushowhide.diagcab
- Open the Microsoft update hide tool (wushowhide.diagcab). Click on "Hide Update," then select this "Intel Corporation - Display - 32.0.101.6127" and click on next.
- The update you selected will be shown as fixed on the next screen.
- Now restart your laptop and check windows update if it is gone.
I followed the procedure you recommended & restarted the device as instructed. However, the issue remains unchanged. Also there is a slight mistake in your fourth option. This is a desktop computer, not A laptop.
I told the Microsoft representative that this is a very old driver & I don't want to install it. I asked whether it could be removed. He said that if I don't want to install it, I can leave it as it is & It will remain there for up to one month and then disappear automatically.
Microsoft states that driver update offers in Windows Update are not automatically removed when you install a driver manually from another source.
