Keyboard not working until I unplug&replug it after booting

So after booting, my keyboard lights don't turn on and no input is detected. The problem goes away after I unplug&replug the keyboard.

This started happening a couple of days ago, and I have done nothing with the computer that would obviously cause such behaviour. No major installs, no huge updates, no changed settings. Ihad the same problem with Windows like two times before moving over a couple months ago, but now it happens after every startup. Any help is appreciated!

Windows may be cutting power to the USB port that your keyboard is connected to.

    1. Open Control Panel → Hardware and Sound → Power Options
    2. Click "Change plan settings" next to your current power plan
    3. Click "Change advanced power settings"
    4. Scroll down to USB settings → USB selective suspend setting
    5. Set it to Disabled
    6. Click Apply → OK

    Restart your computer and test
