Is anyone else experiencing File History issues after recent Windows updates?

Hello, I would like to know whether other Windows 10/11 users have experienced similar File History issues after recent updates. I have seen the same problem on two PCs: Windows 11 25H2 after KB5101684 (July 29, 2026) and Windows 10 22H2 after KB5120249 (August 12, 2026). Files are still backed up to the D: drive, but the Last backup status and Previous Versions do not reflect the latest backups.

If you are experiencing the same issue, please share your Windows version, KB update, and symptoms below. Multiple independent reports may help Microsoft investigate and confirm whether this is a broader File History issue. Thank you.

The current solution is to temporarily restore normal operation by selecting the backup drive again: Control Panel → File History → Select Drive → Select D: Drive again
