I'm trying to connect an older printer to a new windows 11 computer, and it's just not working..
I am using an HP LaserJet from the windows 7 era, a new life with my windows 11 pro machine.
Windows 11 detects the printer instantly when I plug it in via USB. It shows up correctly by name in "Printers & Scanner ". However, it seems to be using a generic "Microsoft IPP Class Driver", When I try to print a test page , the job appears in the print queue for about 3-5 secs, says "printing" and then vanishes. No error message pops up, the printer itself does nothing.
What should I do to help my case ?

Hi.
This is a driver failure. you can uninstall the printer from device manger then install the HP driver from the official website .

If the HP driver isn't working, you might try installing a generic PCL or PostScript driver compatible with your printer model.
