I have lost my Document Folder after terminating OneDrive.

I did not want onedrive in first place had reinstalled win 11- some where along the way it came back and was installed without my knowledge. I then again uninstalled it because it was then claiming it was full and wanted to pay for more storage and it was causing problems with programs I was using.  (Hence why I removed it) Now I do not have a Documents Folder in C:\Users\Name\Documents dir. Is there a way to restore only Documents Folder without OneDrive. I tried a properties on Documents folder but there was nothing saying to make it and/or restore it to default. I need help as with some programs want it and will not work without it or even find it or allow you to redirect manually to it. While some make their own after reinstall to certain directories. I would like some how just restoring Documents Folder. Help please.

Right-click on the document properties in File Explorer > Location > Restore default values, or manually redirect the folder path to its original location.

Properties of documents file doesn't have Location to send back to original location.

  • Right-click on the document properties in File Explorer > Location > Restore default values, or manually redirect the folder path to its original location.

I don't know of any other way that to do another clean install and when it asks you (when install is almost complete) if you wantthings, the stuff we all skip over, you have to tell it you do not want One Drive, I believe thier obnoxious  choices are 'Yes' and 'Later' as if you don't know what you want yet, click Later,
Like I said that's the only way I know, if you simply make a Documents folder the correct registry entries ill not be set for your programs that are looking for 'My Documents' or whatever as their default 'Save To' locations

I hope for your sake that someone chimes in with an easier way to do it but I just went through the same thing 3 weeks ago
    Good Luck

when I did the clean install I did(I did not want cloud or onedrive for the exact reason they cause trouble with a lot of my programs) - again it did what it wanted without my permission probably due to update. I tried to correct the problem and this is the problem I am at (where I can not get anything corrected and it to recognize there is a documents folder. I have a documents file in user\myname\ dire but when I right click I get no locations tab. Everyone goes do it manually whatever that means (absolutely nothing without steps to understand) - if manually is put a folder named Documents then yes that is there and again it does not see it.

What it did that made me want to smack somebody at MS upside the head the 2nd time I went through it was when I opened Edge for the first time it said it wanted to synch my phone and my MS profile then proceeded to do it at the speed of fiber. Before I could get to the settings page it was done synching everything. Thank god I had unchecked the One Drive option. It's on one of the pages in setup with all their questions about making the ads they show you more pertinent by saving your browsing history. I think you must have missed the One Drive question. Or, is it possible your iso came from a questionable source?
