I’ve heard that Windows 11 has a brand-new acrylic-style look?
I’ve noticed that Wintoys has recently added an acrylic background effect. It’s a nice visual change that makes the app look more modern whilst retaining the Windows 11 style.
I’m curious to know how many people are still using Wintoys. With Windows 11 reaching this milestone, it’s great to see that some developers are still updating and improving tools for the system rather than leaving it behind. Have you tried the latest Wintoys update?

It seems the developer is very active, with the latest version (2.6.69.0) released very recently on July 25, 2026.
You're right about the "acrylic-style look." Microsoft updated the acrylic material for Windows 11 to be brighter and more translucent than its predecessor, creating a modern "frosted glass" effect that feels more connected to the content behind it.
