How to cast my Android phone to PC in Windows 11?
Hello everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well!
I’m looking for some help with casting my Android phone to my Windows 11 PC. I often use my phone for browsing and viewing videos, but I would love to mirror my screen or cast content directly to my computer for a better viewing experience. I've done some research but found the options overwhelming, and I want to make sure I’m using a reliable method.
I’m open to both wired and wireless solutions to cast Android phone to PC, but I would prefer a straightforward approach that doesn’t involve too much technical jargon.
Best,
Maine

Method 1: If your Android device and Windows 11 PC support Miracast, you can also use this built-in feature:
1. On your PC:
Open Settings > System > Projecting to this PC.
Select Available Everywhere or Available Everywhere on Secure Networks.2. On your Android device:
Go to Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > Cast.
Find your PC in the list of available devices and tap it to start mirroring.Method 2: If you prefer more advanced options or want full control of your Android device from your PC, you can use Scrcpy, a free, open-source app to cast Android phone to PC. Here's how to set it up:
1. Install ADB:
Scrcpy requires Android Debug Bridge (ADB) to work. You can install ADB as part of a minimal ADB and Fastboot installation.2. Enable developer options on your Android phone:
Go to Settings > About phone and tap Build number seven times to unlock developer options.Return to Settings, find Developer options, and enable USB debugging.
3. Connect your phone:
Connect your Android phone to your PC using a USB cable.4. Run Scrcpy:
Open the Scrcpy folder you unzipped and double-click scrcpy.exe. It should display your Android screen on your PC. - ColoradoRiverIron Contributor

- USB Debugging: To turn on USB Debugging, go to Settings > About Phone, tap on Build Number multiple times to unlock Developer Options, then go back to Settings > Developer Options and enable USB Debugging.
- Quality: For better performance and quality, ensure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network and have a strong connection.
- Firewall: If connection issues occur, check your firewall settings on Windows to ensure that it allows the apps you are using.

Quick steps to cast your Android phone to PC:
- Open the Connect App on Windows 11: Search for “Connect” in the Start menu and fire it up.
- On Your Android Device: Go to the settings where you can find “Screen Cast” or “Smart View”.
- Connect: Your PC should show up in the list of available devices. Select it, and you should be good to go!
- Adjust Settings: Once connected, feel free to tweak the resolution settings if it looks off.
- Grant Permissions: If prompted, don’t forget to hit “Allow” on your phone.
If you hit a wall while connecting, sometimes a good old restart will fix random glitches. Sometimes, your PC’s firewall settings can block connections. Make sure to allow the Connect app through your firewall if you’re having issues. If nothing seems to work, check Windows’ built-in troubleshooter. Head to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot and see if it finds anything.

Casting your Android phone to a PC running Windows 11 can be a great way to share your screen or watch videos on a bigger display, you gotta make sure you’re using the right apps for the job. Windows 11 has built-in support for casting, but not every Android app plays nicely with it. I recommend using the “Connect” app that comes with Windows 11—it’s usually pretty reliable.
Sometimes the resolution between devices can get wonky. If your phone's screen looks stretched or tiny on your PC, you might want to adjust the display settings on your PC or within the casting app. Some apps allow you to change the resolution settings, so check for that.
