How do I set up Windows Hello (facial recognition or fingerprint) in Windows 11?

I am trying to set up Windows Hello on my Windows 11 device, specifically facial recognition or fingerprint login, but I am not sure how to do it properly. Despite following the basic instructions, I can't find the option to configure or enable Windows Hello features, and my device doesn't seem to recognize my camera or fingerprint sensor for authentication. I need detailed guidance on the steps to activate and set up facial recognition or fingerprint login on Windows 11, including any necessary settings or driver requirements. Any help or step-by-step instructions would be greatly appreciated to enable secure and quick sign-in options using Windows Hello.

If hardware isn’t recognized or supported, you may need a compatible camera or fingerprint sensor. Some devices require specific OEM software or drivers for Windows Hello.

  • Hi, go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options and set up a Windows Hello PIN first, because facial recognition and fingerprint sign-in depend on it. After that, choose Facial recognition or Fingerprint recognition and follow the setup. If those options are unavailable, check Device Manager for the camera or fingerprint reader driver, and install the latest driver from the device manufacturer.
