Getting rid of the "N edition" I never asked for..
So, at one time I upgraded from Win 7 Pro x64, as it was offered as free, and without my consent or knowledge, it seems to have upgraded to Windows 10 Pro "N edition", probably because I live in Europe?
I now want to upgrade the PC that has been running that dreaded N edition, both with a new mainboard, CPU and a new boot-nvme drive. I noticed a lot of silly things not working because of that N edition thing, often little licensing bugs regarding streaming networks like netflix, hbo, amazon and so on.
Despite allowing to download and install that 'Media features' pack, this would never solve those problems entirely. Super annoying.
Can I just install Win 11 using the existing license without the N edition? If so, why not?
openai agrees with me, by the way:
