For Developers Sudo option

Working to setup a VM machine using Hyper V

I've selected Ubuntu as my OS and have set up User Id and password

When Ubuntu starts, it doesn't recognize my user id and/or password

Help articles suggest various commands using SUDO

However, I cannot find the setting to enable Sudo within For Developer settings.
