Fix for blurry Paramount+ and other apps on Windows 11

If the Paramount+ Windows app looks blurry, pixelated, or worse than browser streaming (even on a high-speed connection and 4K screen), here's the fix that worked for me:

  1. Go to Settings → System → Display → Graphics
  2. Change dropdown to “Microsoft Store app”
  3. Add Paramount+
  4. Set it to High performance (your dedicated GPU) — in my case, an RTX 5080

Relaunch the app — image quality jumped noticeably, possibly to full 1080p+ clarity. No more muddy scenes or digital noise.

Credit to ChatGPT — this trick works for Chrome too, and probably Netflix/Disney+ Store apps too

I wondered for ages why my vid apps looked like crap on a gaming pc but for some reason never sorted it. In hindsight it seems obvious. Hope this helps somebody.

This tweak works because Windows allows per-app graphics settings, which can override system defaults and improve app rendering quality, especially for GPU-accelerated content.

This trick can also work for other streaming apps like Netflix or Disney+ Store apps, and even for Chrome if you set its GPU preferences.
