Just for fun I thought I'd try opening an Office app today and see what happens. Lo and behold, both Office 2019 and Project 2019 opened and asked me for my keys. I entered those and both apps activated so I'm up and running.
The first thing I thought I would have to do is to update since both apps were the original from the image disk back in 2018. Again, lo and behold, both apps showed as being fully up to date, so. . . I wonder if the whole "not configured to run" was somehow related to updates. Who knows. Anyway, I'm all set, problem solved.
