Desktop icons are disappearing from Quick Access - Why is this happening?

Hello there! I am seeking assistance.

The issue I am encountering is related to my Desktop icon continually vanishing from the quick access menu. The Desktop icon is located in C:\Users\Asus directory. I typically right-click on the Desktop icon and select "Add to quick Access," which does work initially. However, upon restarting my PC, the Desktop icon is missing once again from the quick access menu. Interestingly, the Download, Documents, Images, Music, and Videos icons in the same location never disappear – only the Desktop icon.

Adjust the Quick Access settings to ensure that desktop icons are displayed.
Enable “Show desktop icons” in the desktop context menu.
    Restart the File Explorer process.
Check for system updates to make sure they are not causing the settings to reset.
If necessary, create a new user account to test for profile issues.
System File Repair using the System File Checker (SFC) tool

If you still have trouble getting the Desktop icon to stick, you could create a shortcut manually on your desktop linking to the Desktop folder in C:\Users\Asus and pin that shortcut to Quick Access. It's not a perfect solution, but it can serve as a good workaround until you find the root cause.
