Auto update not working
I have a Dell Optiplex 7070 with Windows 11 version 25H2 OS build 26200.8655. Auto update does not work, I have to remember to periodically manually check for updates. Where do I start to check to see what is incorrectly set that is keeping this PC from auto updating?

Hi — Windows does not scan at an exact visible time every day, but if updates appear only when you manually press Check for updates, I’d start with policy and connection settings rather than resetting everything.
Make sure updates are not paused, the connection is not marked metered, and Settings > Accounts > Access work or school does not show unexpected management. On a business-managed PC, run `gpresult /h update-policy.html` and check whether a domain or Intune policy is controlling automatic updates. On an unmanaged PC, open `services.msc` and confirm Windows Update and Background Intelligent Transfer Service have not been disabled; their normal startup behavior may be Manual/triggered, so they do not have to run constantly.
Then run the Windows Update troubleshooter and check Task Scheduler > Microsoft > Windows > UpdateOrchestrator for disabled tasks. Avoid registry cleaners or third-party update tools. Is this OptiPlex joined to a company domain/Intune, and how many days pass before a manual scan finds an update?
