After changing the Microsoft account on Windows 11, the system became stuck at the login screen.

After changing my Microsoft account, restarting the computer gets stuck at the login screen and won't enter the system. How can this be resolved?

When your Windows 11 gets stuck at the login screen after changing your Microsoft account, it can be caused by account synchronization issues, corrupted user profiles, or system glitches.

    1. Boot into Safe Mode.
    2. Try to revert or remove the problematic account.
    3. Create a new local account if needed.
    4. Use System Restore to revert to a previous state.
    5. As a last resort, repair or reinstall Windows.

This situation can occur when Windows has an issue refreshing the authentication token after changing the Microsoft account associated with the device. There are a few troubleshooting steps that usually resolve the problem.

First, try signing in using another available sign-in option on the login screen. Select Sign-in options and choose Password instead of Windows Hello (PIN, face, or fingerprint). In many cases the PIN becomes invalid after the account change, but the password will still work.

If that does not work, restart the device and boot into Safe Mode:

    1. From the login screen, hold Shift and select Restart.
    2. Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings.
    3. Restart and choose Safe Mode.

Once inside Safe Mode, sign in and check the account configuration under Settings > Accounts > Your info to confirm the Microsoft account change completed correctly. Sometimes removing and re-adding the account resolves the issue.

Another option is to use System Restore from the Advanced options menu if a restore point exists from before the account change.

If the device is connected to a work or school account (Microsoft Entra ID), it can also help to disconnect and reconnect the account from Access work or school after successfully signing in.

In most cases the issue is related to Windows Hello credentials becoming out of sync after the account change, and signing in once with the account password usually restores normal login behavior.

The issues you're experiencing—display cutoff, lost sound settings, and network profile errors after clearing cache and restarting—suggest that some system settings or drivers may have been affected or corrupted during the process.
