Unable to sign-in to Skype for Business client after switching to Teams only

Hi All

I was hoping someone could assist me with this. So I implemented Lync hybrid. Moved all my skype for business users to Skype for business online. I then ran get-csuser | Disable-csuser on the Lync server on-premise. In skype for business online powershell I ran the Grant-CsTeamsUpgradePolicy -Identity username -PolicyName UpgradeToTeams for the users that were migrated to skype for business online. I then switched the tenant to Teams Only mode.  All the required DNS records have been updated.

My problem is that some users are no longer to sign-in to the skype for business client.

They get the attached error message.

I would like for them to be able to sign-in so that they see the message that the organization is now only using microsoft teams.

Any ideas?

  • Hi Navishkar Sadheo

Nice to work with you again. The error screenshot which you have attached in the Questions is basically representing following:-

    1. SIP Address and the UPN Address is mismatched. Check if both the SIP and the UPN Address for the affected user is same.

    2. User account is not provision for Skype for Business Services. Can you please navigate to Skype for Business Online Admin Center and see if you are seeing users provisioned in the Skype for Business Admin Centre.

    3. The DNS Configuration is incorrect. Try making the manual configuration in the Teams Client with the below address and see if you can sign-in to SFBO. Use the configuration in both the Internal and External Configuration  sipdir.online.lync.com:443

Let me know if the above solution helps.

    With Regardsm

        Hi Navishkar Sadheo

Can you send me the details of one specific user with the Get-CSOnlineUSer for that specific user? Also check in your on-premises AD what is the value for MSRTCSIPEnabled Value for the user account. If that is set as false please enable the same to True and sync the user and try the same.

        With Regards,
