Workflow Keeps Adding Notes into Email Body

Hello. 

I have a SharePoint workflow (2103) in production that is making several calls to a SharePoint list and creating an email that sends to a DL. The workflow runs once, then pauses, runs again a few hours later, then pauses until the next day. 

There is a stage that collects the comments on the list items and compiles the data for the email. The issue I am having is that these comments never clear out and are always added to.

Is there a way to have the data cleared for that stage after the send email line? I'bve attached a screenshot of the workflow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
