Where is the "Save Site as Template" option in Modern?
Hi all,
I've created two 'public' SharePoint sites, one named "External" and the other named "Internal," to be used as templates for future SharePoint sites we create. We've got the two sites how we'd like them with the proper Document Libraries and subfolders, as well as homepage web parts, but I am not seeing the "Save as Template" option in Site Settings as per this Microsoft article: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/dev/general-development/save-download-and-upload-a-sharepoint-site-as-a-template
Not seeing the Site Actions > Save Site as a template option here:
Thank you in advance,
Morghan
Hi,
You should not use the "Save as template" feature anymore in SPO. The way to go is through PnP Site Templates / Site Scrips (Called now Site Templates)

- MVCuserBrass ContributorHi Juan Carlos. Has this option been removed? because i have a Site i created last year (a modern one) and when i go to settings i can see within site actions Save this site as a template. But now i tried to create a new site and save it as a Template but when i go to settings looks like a lot has changed because though i am admin to both sites, i do not see the same options (including the save site as template that is missing). thanks
