You should not use the "Save as template" feature anymore in SPO. The way to go is through PnP Site Templates / Site Scrips (Called now Site Templates)

- Hi Juan Carlos. Has this option been removed? because i have a Site i created last year (a modern one) and when i go to settings i can see within site actions Save this site as a template. But now i tried to create a new site and save it as a Template but when i go to settings looks like a lot has changed because though i am admin to both sites, i do not see the same options (including the save site as template that is missing). thanks

But I'm preferred to get shorter way to approach this situation.
