what persmission set to user on library ?

hello,   i saw there is many permissions we can set, what permission is better to let user see file and modify ?   modify Conception Collaboration     thanks

Hi Eric LE CORRE in SharePoint and SharePoint Online there are 33 discrete permissions. Combinations of those permissions are called Permission Levels. Here is a list of permission levels available in one of my site collections:

 

Full Control
Design
Edit
Contribute
Read
Moderate
View Only
Approve
Manage Hierarchy
Restricted Read
Restricted Interfaces for Translation

 

If you are a site collection administrator you can create new permission levels. Don't modify the existing ones, but you can copy them and modify the copies.  Always include a description in your new permissions levels, you will be glad you did later.  Replace the values in the URL below to see the permissions levels on a site collection:

https://{yourtentant}.sharepoint.com/sites/{yoursitecollection}/_layouts/15/role.aspx

 

If you compare the Edit permission level to the Contribute permission level you will see why Andrew Silcock stated a preference for the Contribute permission level.  Thanks - Greg
