Views defined in libraries doesn't work on modern sharepoint online pages
Hi all,
I have a very big problem with views from my document libraries. I have lots of document libraries where I defined different views. On pages I add the library web part and get an option to choose a view after I have chosen a library.
Problem is it doesn’t work. The web part just keeps the OOB default view (All documents).
I am in SharePoint Online using Communication sites – I have same problem on Team sites. I am completely Online, no on-prem. Ordinary Communication and Team sites. No special pages, just the OOB sites, pages and web parts.
If I am in the library, I can create views and change the active view.
But I am unable to change to another default view. If I choose the “make this view the default” when I edit the view, go out and then back in, it just shows All Documents view.
So, sum up, I am unable to choose another view in the document library web part.
Also, I am unable to change the default view in the document libraries.
This is key functionality so we really need it to work! So, what am I doing wrong? What am I overlooking?

This is a known bug that has been reported by quite a few people. Microsoft is aware and will release a fix at some point (as I was told by MSFT support). I have not tested this recently, so I'm not sure if anything has changed in the last 1 - 2 months.

If this indeed is a known bug, how can I get a time-line for a solution?
It is NOT helping adoption in my organisation that the cool stuff I create and tell users they can create is not working at all.....
To be honest it is actually doing the opposite.
Anybody from Microsoft support?
Just to further add stuff:
I have had this problem some weeks (3-4 weeks as far as I remember). I am not in first release or anything like that.
Also, to complicate things a bit. Sometimes the views actually works in the libraries (changing the default view) but not always... More often it doesn't work.
- Strange, I have just tested this and I works as expected:
(1) Create a new default view where I'm doing grouping by a specific column.
(2) Create a new page and add the modern document library WebPart
(3) Configure the document library WebPart to use the document library.
(4) The new default view is shown in the WebPart as expected
