Using Sharepoint as a hub for MS Projects
Hi,
I'm a complete newbie to Sharepoint. I've been using MS Project as a Project Manager and exploring now the features of Project Online.
I'd like to set up a PMO sharepoint website that will provide an overview of all projects that are active, some customised reporting + individual projects pages to store the documentation, reporting, commentary etc.
I'm happy to manage projects via MS Project - as this is the tool meant for it - but still would like to be able to share it via Sharepoint for the users (execs) that don't want to have anything to do with MS Project but want to have an Project Overview, access to documentation and reporting easily accessible.
In Project Online there is a great feature of Project Roadmap which is awesome and I would like to be able to embed it (as an object not just link) on the Sharepoint page, but cannot find the information how to do it. Is it possible at all?
Is it possible to embed the Project Online Gantt chart to the Sharepoint page?
thanks!
Monika
- ProjectFutureBrass ContributorHi, Monika, Project Online and SharePoint are going their separate ways so I would not encourage you to explore the POL/SharePoint model deeply further. Feel free to reach out to ask me directly about this if you like. Microsoft wants people to use SharePoint Lists for light projects and the DataVerse for projects requiring relational data. In the meantime, I encourage you to look for Power BI solutions for the reporting you want for execs.
