Users unable to rename files/folders with edit permissions?
We have a site where we would like users to have full edit access apart from being able to delete files and folders. I have configured the default permission level for 'Edit' and simply unticked the 'Delete' option, which has worked fine.
However, users report that they do not have a rename button when they select a file or folder, and if they attempt to change the document name using the properties pane they get a permissions denied error.
Is there any way to enable this?
Thanks
- Have you tried contribute level access and remove delete from that? Contribute has a bit more access than just edit.

I'd like to try the contribute permission level, although the site seems to prevent access to the user when it's assigned to them.
I have created a new permission group and assigned 'contribute' as its permission level. When I add users to it, they simply get the following message.
Don't suppose you might know why this happens? Have tried it on several accounts with no luck!
- Interesting. Contribute access should allow access.
