Usage report for news on modern pages

At our tenant we make extensive use of the new communication sites in SharePoint Online. A news item is a page on these new communication sites. Now I want an excel from reporting where I can see how often a news item has been read. When I look into audit settings, everything is set up correctly. I can also run certain reports, but for example the Content viewing report gives every time an error message that it does not contain data. Now i don't know if this is the report i am looking for. What I do know that it does not generate a report.

Someone an idea how I retrieve this data?
