Update the Modified Date due to adding Comments

Hi there,

If I were to double click on a SharePoint list, enter a comment in the Comments field, then close it, I know the comment is saved, but the Modified Date doesn't update.  Is that correct behavior or is it a bug?

Thanks,

Shirley

  • Shirley13 This is the correct behavior as per the current design.

List comments are stored within the list schema itself and not with list items. So, whenever you add a new comment on list item, it does not update the modified date or modified by column.
