MicrosoftUpdate: Document Sets in Modern Document Libraries
Hi Michael,
We have the document sets displaying in modern view ok, but we used to use Doc sets in classic view heavily, and cannot migrate from their in many situations because we are unable to display Document set properties on the top of the page for example, as there are no welcome pages in modern.
Can you advise if anything like this is on the roadmap at all ?

PaulRignanese In the modern view of a document set, the details pane should automatically open and show the document set's welcome page properties above other column values. Is there information that's missing from the details pane? Do we need to make the welcome page properties stand out more?
- I find that the welcome page properties are lost amongst the noise of the information panel. My users are highly likely to ignore the information panel entirely as they rarely need that information. However they do need the welcome page properties.
- I agree. The ability to keep a sub-set of columns and other important information front and foremost is quite important, particularly when you are using doc sets to manage a moderate or large number of cases simultaneously.

For me, to get modern document sets to work correctly and look "Modern", I had to follow the steps in this article.

This works, when i open a document set through, it opens up the details panel, but only shows the document set name, not the other properties of the doc set.

Hi Paul, thanks for providing a screenshot!
If you click "More details", do the expected properties show up? If not, could you check whether those properties are listed under "Columns" when you click the content type on the Library Settings page (i.e. step 14 of the instructions you linked)?
