Unexpected behavior when using "Get a Link" in Document Libraries
Dear all,
I've noticed a strange and unexpected behavior, when an "edit link" is being used in the Modern Document Libraries:
- The user isn't informed about the fact, that this link will grant users access also to underlying folders and documents with unique permissions (as explicitly mentioned in the "invite people" dialogue and with the ability to opt-out for it)
- Every user who clicks on this link automatically gets "contribute" permissions, which the owner can't modify or remove afterwards (those users will be listed in a separate section "users who have permission through a sharing link (manage links to remove users)")
- The "manage links to remove users" isn't working => so no chance to retract the link or at least remove those unique permissions
Do you know if this is a bug? Is there any workaround available to roll back such "get a link" action?

Has anyone found a solution to this issue? How can we remove these permissions?

Ok found the solution, all you need to do is remove the Guest access links, see the following article:
