Turn off comments in SharePoint library
The comments are showing by default via edit properties in the SharePoint doc lib, is there a way to turn it off? (comment setting in list)
LP4415890 Turning Comment off here will just disable the ability for users to add new comments, but won't hide the Comments panel, and no option that I know of to hide it unfortunately. Once you set it to No, the Comments pane should at least be collapsed from what I've seen.
