trying to share folder with guest, but access denied.
Just did a test in a SharePoint Library.
User account already in my guest list in O365
- If I share a folder to this specific user, it works.
User account not in my guest list in O365 and tied or not to a Microsoft account
- If I share a folder to this specific user, he will receive e-mail and will be asked for e-mail confirmation and receive a code. Result: not working "Access denied. don't have permission to access this ressource and asking to connect with a O365 account or other Microsoft service.
- However, if I share a file to the same account it works.
Hi Martin-Coupal,
Can you paste some screenshots showing the experience you are seeing? Thanks!

Microsoft
Hi Dipesh Amin,
That is definitely odd! Have you contacted Microsoft support about this yet? They can run you through some basic troubleshooting which may help here. If it doesn't, feel free to send me a PM and we can troubleshoot further. Thanks!

StephenRice i seem to get this with one particular client.
when i try to share a folder with them using both 'anyone' or 'specific' they get access denied (Attached). However when i say file then it is fine.I have checked the SharePoint Features - its not active.
The account is to a Google organisation email address
Any ideas?

Found the answer: Do NOT create the team site or document library in the preview portal. Create your page in the legacy portal, and all will be well as far as file/folder sharing expectations.

Hello, I am also having this issue with my SPO Document Center. I have anonymous sharing enabled at the tenant and the site, I have turned off "Limited-access user permission lockdown mode". I need to copy a link and share externally, sending to anonymous users - NOT by individual invitation, but a link sent out in an email to hundreds of potential customers. I am selecting a folder in the root and selecting "Copy link" to do this. When the user tries to open the link, they get the attached error.
If I open a subfolder and select "Copy link" my anonymous user can get in, but CAN NOT see any documents in that folder.
