Task Lists in Modern Experience

Question

Hi,&nbsp;&nbsp;If I change a Task list to Modern list experience and click on an item, then instead of opening the item, a download is initiated of an empty file named after the ID of the item (for example: 901_.000). This makes it impossible to modify the item.&nbsp;&nbsp;From the ongoing discussions on this site, I can understand that tasks are not yet fully supported in modern experience, but now I can see in this SharePoint Server 2019 discussion that this issue should be fixed/addressed in the upcoming release of SharePoint 2019 - but can anyone tell me if this fix will be applied to SharePoint online too and the expected ETA?&nbsp;&nbsp;Thanks,Kristine

All these issues are still there which make user experience in SPO Online really difficult. People would like to use the modern experience as much as possible but it is impossible to do so since the modern experience as still some many problems.&nbsp;&nbsp;

We have several SharePoint online sites that are on hold waiting to be converted to "Task Lists in Modern Experience" view. Would be very interested in the resolution and availability of it for the issue outlined here...

As far as I understand it task lists works until you add some extra kolumns to say show say something like "withinBudget YEs/No" or whatever. As soon as you do that it totally breaks down. I am unsure what is the best way to bring this to microsofts attention. I am also looking to topics to upvote in Uservoice. Uservoice seems to influence stuff like Planner, but the Sharepoint team seem to work differently. https://sharepoint.uservoice.com/forums/329214-sites-and-collaboration?query=calendar&nbsp;As it is now there is a quite a few silly little things that needs to be fixed in Sharepoint. Something that I have always been missing are some basic configurations for the calendar view. Things like if you want to show events occuring on a certain date that gets totally cluttered in week view cause it is divided up in hours. It would be very nice to be able to disable hours ans just show all items on that day. Stuff like. Would like to know the status of this.&nbsp;Something that would be handy in this current in between situation is in apps, lists and webparts could have a label if they are Legacy or Modern to know if they are likely to work or not before you select them on your sharepoint site.

Mmm...that's odd because If there is a modern task list in SP 2019, then it should be first in SPO something that to me knowledge is not true

Juan, for the time being, when you configure your task list to use the modern view instead, then the mentioned issue occurs, where it downloads a file instead of opening the item in view/edit mode, so I’m interested in knowing, when/if this issue will be fixed?
