Supported column types for Quick Parts

Hello,

I started exploring using the Quick Parts menu to add Document properties as they relate to columns created in a Document Library. I noticed that some column types don't seem to be supported. Is there a document list out there of the supported types?

I'm using SharePoint 2013 on prem and Word 2016.

(Word > Insert ribbon > Quick Parts > Document Property)

To further explain there are plenty of articles and blogs out there to show you how to set up the word template to make use of the library columns however along the way you find out what column types cant be inserted into the document or they don't quite work how you expect.

Hello! Your quick parts are in the building blocks of your locally installed word application. Those are different from the columns in your document library at SharePoint. If you want to use SharePoint columns as word document properties you have to create site columns in the site settings of your SharePoint. Then you can insert this (globally used) site columns in your doc library on SharePoint. And then you can create a doc and fill in the content for these properties. By opening the document in word you will see the content =metadata from SharePoint filled in to your document. So word quick parts are noch on your SharePoint. And your doc properties in Word are either local quick Parts OR cloudy SharePoint . Hope that helps, Greets, Eva
