SPOnlone http 401 error creating website

Hi guys,

 

can someone help? I just want to create a aspx file we had on on-prem system before and want now to migrate this file to sp online. When i try to upload the file in the Website Sites Library i got an 401 http error. Can anybody help to understand why we get this http 401 error?

    SebastianLehmann You cannot migrate an aspx page from SharePoint onprem to cloud by just uploading it to cloud. Either you need to use a migration tool (Check out https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointmigration/introducing-the-sharepoint-migration-tool It has capability to migrate pages in Site Assets library.

     

    Or you can rebuild you page in SharePoint online. In some cases it is easier to rebuild it using Modern UI rather than going through the process of migration.
