Specify/define default news template
Is there a way to alter the "template" for news posts on modern communication sites?
I would like to define a template that is being used when clicking on the "+Add" -> "News Post" button on modern sharepoint communication sites. I created a custom template in the template library on the site, but how do I define which template is being used for the default news page? Whenever a user clicks on the "+Add" button in a news web part, the default template is used and the user cannot choose a different page template.

- AFAIK, there is not a way to achieve this Today
Ni_Ra975 Only way I've found to do this is through a lot of steps. Worth it if you have a very specific format you need and your users are technical enough to not mind jumping through hoops.
If you've already created a page template, have them create a new page instead of a news post. Then, after they save, they can 'publish the page as news'. A bad habit to start with, but it works.
