SP133540 - Problem accessing SharePoint Online or OneDrive for Business sites

Our users are heavily affected by this and it is becoming more than a nuisance. Our users are used to accessing their files via the File Explorer and this feature has become useless for many.

This has been going on for over a month and seems to get worse by the day.

Is anyone else experiencing this and is able to provide a useful work around (other than the one provided by Microsoft)?

Latest message:Title: Problem accessing SharePoint Online or OneDrive for Business sites for external users

User Impact: External users may experience credential prompts or access errors when trying to access SharePoint Online sites.

More info: Specifically, external users may receive credential prompts when attempting to access SharePoint Online or OneDrive for Business sites that have been shared with them. As a workaround, users can close the credential prompt to access the sites successfully.

Current status: We're continuing our testing efforts to ensure that the fix successfully resolves the issue without adversely impacting other aspects of the service. We anticipate that the deployment of the solution will start tomorrow.

Scope of impact: Your organization is affected by this event and impact is specific to external users that have been invited to access your organization's SharePoint Online or OneDrive for Business sites.

Start time: Monday, March 19, 2018, at 12:00 AM UTC

Preliminary root cause: A recently introduced code issue is affecting authentication in some scenarios.

Looks like they said it will be fixed hopefully by next Friday...

"Current status: We've identified an issue contained in the fix that was not discovered during testing, which has the potential to cause more severe service impact if fully deployed. We're reverting the fix to prevent additional impact, and will produce a new version that avoids this problem. We anticipate that the new fix will be ready for deployment by Friday, May 18th, 2018."

I can't believe the next update is now next week...

Current status: We're now deploying the fix within our internal production environment. Within approximately one week, we'll begin deploying the fix to all affected customers.

We are on the same boat... all collaboration with guests is down... and we have dozens of projects... back to email... Really bad for adoption and terrible for confidence
