Site Following and Recent Updates
Good Day
Although we have the ability in following SharePoint Online sites and seeing them on the SharePoint landing page does anyone know if there may be ways we could improve it so that:
- From the list of followed sites we can also see a status showing which ones have had recent updates. This way it helps the users check out/distinguish followed sites with recent activity VS those sites you follow that have not had any recent changes
Not sure if levering web services, API, Microsoft Graph or other paths could help retrieve this information. Thanks

- Basically you cannot customize the SharePoint landing page, so the functionality you have there cannot be exended in any way. In regards of getting this information, short answer is yes, you can get it from the Graph

Thank you all, appreciate it. In case you know of good Graph API resources to check let me know.
- The closest thing you can do is use the Frequent sites from SharePoint Home, they are also releasing a webpart so you can add this to your Intranet homepages, along with files etc. Detailed here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-SharePoint-Blog/SharePoint-web-part-updates-Yammer-Conversations-My-Documents/ba-p/303719
It would be a good suggestion IMO to have an option to configure it to show followed sites, but right now there isn't anything out of the box that allows this. So your back to having to create your own SPFX assuming graph has the follow information available.
