Show Document-Version Number on Documents
Is it possible to add the Document-Version Number on Documents in modern SPO libraries?
We want to automatically print the Version-Number on Documents we get from SPO libraries .
I can´t find a solution in the modern experience. In the classic experience it is possible.
I couldn´t find a solution so I tought maybe anybody here had the same problem.
- Eva VogelSteel ContributorHi Yannick! I’m certain you created your library with content types and site columns within, so your files will be populated with the content you want to print out. I suggest you add the version column as a site column in this library. Thus all props and the version number will be inherited in each document. Hope that helps. Greets, Eva

Hello Eva,
Yes, I have a column in the library with the Version of the document. How can I set the Version in for example a word document?
I can´t find a adjustment to add it to the document or print it on the document.
Thank you for your reply.
Kind regards
Yannick
Hi Yannick,
In your document library settings in Metadata Navigation Settings add your column to Available Key Filter fields.
After that in Word document Insert->Quick Parts->Document properties and find your field here.
