SharePoint/Excel - This content presents a potential security issue. Do you trust this content?
Since this morning several client versions of excel that have a pointing to sharepoint (our tenant) give the following message; does this happen to anyone else?

In my case our issue is SP. The case number provided by BlackV is good:

The Next update is:

Any update on this? I'm still having the same issue. No updates available either.

gerhardbotha I have just updated to latest M365 Apps Current Channel - Version 2407 (Build 17830.20166) and this does NOT fix the issue for me. https://portal.office.com/adminportal/home#/servicehealth/:/alerts/SP861520Also, this does not suggest anything regarding updating Office Apps. I can confirm that adding to trusted sites DOES fix the issue but I have opened a case with MSFT stating that I am still experiencing the issue and want a back end fix, not a GPO to fix something THEY broke!
- gerhardbothaAug 19, 2024Copper ContributorJust ran an update again, still the same issue. And our site is on the trusted site list.
- gerhardbothaAug 19, 2024Copper ContributorHappy to report that it's been fixed on my side now!
- joriswillemseAug 19, 2024Copper ContributorThe issue seems to be resolved. Some users did receive the required update(s) automatically already, some needed to manually trigger the updates and reboot manually afterwards.
(In Outlook, go to File -> Office Account -> Update)
Not sure which update resolved the issue, where it isn't the security message issue itself that was resolved, but the mentioned other update that was temporarily fixed, which resolved in the security warning when opening some documents.
The updates that were installed are:
- Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise, 16.0.17726.20206
- Microsoft Edge, 127.0.2651.105 - joriswillemseAug 18, 2024Copper ContributorFor me the issue has been resolved. I had to update MS Office apps manually (Outlook -> File -> Office Account -> Updates) and reboot my machine afterwards. But from that point I did no longer get the security warning.
Hopefully these updates are included in the Windows Updates mechanism soon, so that all machines get these automatically.
I cannot find anything though in the release notes of the updates. The updates that I see are installed after my action are:
- Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise 16.0.17726.20206
- Microsoft Edge 127.0.2651.105
So my guess is that the original issue was resolved in one of these updates, but since I can't find anything that seems related in their release notes I am not 100% sure.
