SharePoint Usage Ideas
Currently we are using SharePoint Online for a file repository and also as a leave request calendar. I am wondering what other ways we can take advantage of SharePoint Online.
Thanks to everyone who responds.

We are building lots of different apps and teams using the tech.
for example
- Production Deletions management - SharePoint/Flow
- Raw Material Quality management - SharePoint/PowerApps/PowerBI/Flow
- Supplier reviews - SharePoint/Flow
- Commercial Finance reporting - SharePoint/Alerts
- Sales Review - SharePoint
- MIS team site - SharePoint
- Intranet - SharePoint Communications site
- Contracts Database - SharePoint/Flow/PowerBI
- Various Project sites - SharePoint/Flow/PowerBI
- Melbourne Cup Sweepstakes - SharePoint/Addin
- Quality Assurance documentation - SharePoint
- Exec/Senior & Other team sites - SharePoint
- Crisis Management - Teams/SharePoint
- Environmental Data - SharePoint
This is just naming a few, but its only limited by your imagination, we have a lot of plans to use it in many areas. Some of our big wins are around collaboration, so just the basics of sharing a PowerPoint and having the whole team working on it at the same time, instead of emailing it around. Also using PowerBI/PowerQuery in Excel to combine mutliple data sources into one report or dashboard.

For inspiration have a look at the Productivity Library, though some of these are intermingled with other technologies, it's a useful springboard.
- Totally agree :-)...for instance, we are building at my company a GDPR solution built on top of SPO :-)...and no to mention other Portal solutions such as an Intranet, Employee Portal, Communication Portal, etc
- Brent EllisSilver ContributorWe build all kinds of "mini applications" using SharePoint Lists and Libraries - procurement request forms, new IT project forms, resource request forms, etc (all with "state-machine" workflows that move it through the process). We use it to do simple opportunity tracking and connect it up to PowerBI for visual analysis of opportunities. I call it a great 90% platform. You can do a million different things, you may not always get it to be 100% of what you want, but most of the time 90% is good enough.
