SharePoint Sync Issues

Our company has also been experiencing synchronization issues with the one list we maintain for our training courses. We only have about 620 list items total so far and may have an attachment on about half of our items. I doubt it is a file size issue.
The issues seem to only occur on the lists we edit in sharepoint or on the web-based app (we must use to version to fill out the location fields - I think it uses Bing maps). We have other lists that employees edit using the desktop app exclusively and they never experience synch issues. These lists are still shared and worked on by multiple employees.
