Sharepoint Site Edit Differences
Hi! Sorry if this has been answered- I wasn't sure how to word it.
I've taken over our site, and I noticed the homepage is a different format than our pages. I really prefer the edit layout with the edit button vs settings>edit page. Why is this different and can I change the homepage to edit like the other pages (not via settings)?
I saw some page examples online, and I specifically want to try the buttons (especially with the search bar), but when I started looking for YT tutorials, they all seem to use the Edit button I prefer.
So the main page is a SharePoint Classic page and is recommended not to be used, I'm guessing it's an old site or your root site?
You can follow this to modernize it :
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/dev/transform/modernize-classic-sitesIf it's your root site, then you can create a new communication site and do a site swap. Don't forget to move your files after that to the new site.
