SharePoint Search box leading to page edit mode rather than the search center

Hi All,

We have a case where some of the users (please note that these users have complete access over the site) when they search for some content on the search box that appears on the title bar in SharePoint, it should ideally lead them to the search center or search results page. But it open the current page in "edit mode". This is experienced by only few users who have complete access over the site for others first time they get access denied message and later on the search works fine.

Any help on this is highly appreciated.
