Sharepoint Online Term set label limits
Hello
We are trying to import data into the labels of a term set from a cvs generated Excel sheet. This works because it imports the records up to 5299 labels and than stops. Is there a limit (boundary) on the number of labels that can be imported/created in a term set. We have found no references about limits imposed.
Hope someone out there can help.

To work around this issue, only use the term store tool to import term sets that contain fewer than 5,000 terms. To import large term sets, use the Client Side Object Model (CSOM).

That CVS import process has been around for many years and has some significant shortcomings, i.e, it does not support everything in a term set. I recommend taking a look at the PnP cmdlets for working with terms, see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/sharepoint-pnp/new-pnpterm?view=sharepoint-ps
- Not aware of a limit in the Import process...there is a limit in the number of terms you can create: Managed metadata - 200,000 terms in Term Store, 1,000 global term sets, 1,000 groups.
