Sharepoint Online Permissions options changed badly?
- Dec 03, 2018
Thanks for jumping in here Bruno Aleixo :)
There should be an "Advanced" link and it is supposed to be in the same release as the new pane. If this doesn't resolve itself tomorrow, please let us know so we can investigate further.
Appreciate everyone's feedback here!

Well for what it's worth I found how to get to advanced settings for folder/files. You need to switch to classic mode, then click on the ... for the file or folder and share. Then on the Share window, click Shared with on the left, then advanced.
Hi Chris,
Thanks for looking into this. This situation is very strange and is a huge disappointment.. Breaking folder inheritance easily was one of the best features of OneDrive/SharePoint.
Btw OneDrive also lost the feature.
- Nov 28, 2018Yeah they are just streamlining the settings. In a way I like it overall to minimize and make it easy for end users which has caused user adoption to be better in Modern, but at least still leave an advanced option out of the way that is easy to access for those that need it.

Adding StephenRice here because the screenshots postes are the ones I expected for ODFB in regards of the new permissions management....I was not expecting them also in SPO at least at the same time they deploy it to ODFB. Stephen, can you confirm what's happeing here?

OneDrive for Business has the same looking options.
Also one thing to note is that the file sharing done this way is very unstable and nearly unusable when setting sub-folder privileges. When you manage sub-folder access and press the button, the system sometimes opens the parent's folder settings. I don't have to mention that this folder management is very slow.
