Sharepoint online move/copy to functions disappeared
- Jun 11, 2019
tharvey I had a user call with the same issue this morning. After doing a little digging, I realized she was trying to move documents in a Document Library web part, instead of within the Document Library itself. Switching over to the actual Document Library brought back to Move/Copy buttons.
What does this mean? What does it mean to be in the document library "web part" instead of the document library itself? How to I get to the document library?

(hopefully since June this has all resolved for you, but just for anyone else). In Sharepoint, you have the Vertical menu of "Home, Conversations, Documents, Shared with Us" etc. PICKING/defaulting to "HOME" IS WHAT HAS GIVEN US THIS PROBLEM. Instead, go to "Documents", and start from there to navigate your folders and files. This way, when you click on the little 3 dot ribbon, "copy to" and "move to" are now options again.

DenHen75 If you open a SharePoint site and are on the Home page (where you probably have a document web app) and you use the ellipsis (three dots) next to your document, you will not see Copy to or Move to. If you first open the Documents page, then use the ellipsis to see your options, Copy to and Move to should be there. Hopes this helps!
