- TasmaniaBrass ContributorI absolutely love collapsible sections, but like others here, I need a way to link a collapsed section and automatically have it expand. This seems to be a common need (there are other threads about this on the tech community). Is there any movement on making this happen?

Can we collapse and expand multiple sections together on a published page..
As if we have many sections then doing it for individual section is not user friendly.
Also it hinders the search functionality on the page since the search on page only works on content visible in the expanded portion.
- Rob_ElliottBronze Contributor
anilky111 no, it's not possible to expand all sections at the same time.

- M365SpecialistBrass ContributorLoving the accordion sections for the one column sections! Would it be possible to also apply this feature to individual columns within the section at some point? Possibly add the option to the regular text box Web Part rather than to a section?
M365Specialist That would be a great addition to collapsible sections feature. You can suggest these ideas to Microsoft via SharePoint feedback portal at: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/06735c62-321c-ec11-b6e7-0022481f8472

- teapengCopper ContributorAnybody know if Microsoft is in the pipeline to support the header text change? I tried custom CSS but it's not working. Or anybody got any idea how to reduce the font size? TIA
- HeinrichSchwarzBrass Contributor
teapeng I tried different approaches to configure the styling of the headings. But I didn't found a way to do so.
I hope that MS has a general update of collapsing sections in the pipeline but I don't know.
if Pernille-Eskebo is reading here from my perspective the following things have to be updated:
1) Expanding and Collapsing sections by "URL Parameter" such that I can decide in my links how sections are shown
2) Enabling the Styling of Sections headings
3) Allow Images as Section Headings
4) Decide weather the content of collapsed section is preloaded (quick display) and searchable with ctrl+F
5) Allow cascades of collapsing sessions- rgwinnBrass Contributor
I just checked this and it appears that for some reason no one other than ADMIN can see the actual section on a mobile device. We tried using this for FAQs where the question is the expandable/collapsible section and the answer is just a text block. It works fine on laptops but not on mobile devices. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Do you know if there is a way to expand a section by URL?
I have a page (like an FAQ page) with many sections which are by default collapsed. In some cases Users will reach this page with a link and then a special section should be directly expanded. Is there a way to do it in the URL (sites/faq.aspx#MySection3 with an additional paramter for expanding?)ganeshsanapThanks for your great page you linked. I didn't found the answer to my question there - but much other great inputs.
- StevenNeeleCopper ContributorAdd a Text with header format in the section. Sharepoint will give this header a page anchor automatically. Link to this page anchor via URL. The section will now be expanded.

that's not true. At least not in my case. The anchor might jump to the correct point in the page but it won't expand the accordion (which it should!)Sorry I see now.. the solution is to add another heading below the collapsible section heading as a h2. How clunky (but does work).
The simpler solution would be for MS to fix this as you now have to have two titles for a section! Also, because my sections have a file viewer embedded it takes 5 seconds for the accordions to open when linked from an anchor tag. Real poor User Experience.
HeinrichSchwarz I have tried this scenario before & it does not work. Unfortunately, I have not found any query string parameter for this.

ganeshsanapSince today we cannot edit the headlines for the collapsible sections. It doesn't work for existing ones and new ones.
DFiedler Yes, many users are facing the exact same issues. Check my comments above in the same thread.

Section Display Name box is not there anymore (See screen shot highlighted in red). Did something change recently?
- SBailey_72Copper ContributorI have experienced this too today - it was there any working for my other pages where I have applied collapsible sections and now I am unable to name the section. Any ideas or is this a MS issue?
SBailey_72 This is an issue from Microsoft side. I will recommend you to raise a support ticket with Microsoft.

Imran_Blog : Thanks for brining this up.
Even I noticed the same today - the section name is not working visible. I tried creating a new section, declaring it as collapsible but even then the display name is not visible.
- Imran_BlogCopper ContributorLooks like issue started on 12/3. See here where a few people are having the same issue https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/modern-sharepoint-collapsible-sections-no-longer/c496d318-f6e0-46d4-9033-d6bd32221f3f

ganeshsanapthe arrow now shows up above or below the heading, which makes no sense.. will it be adressed?
vnorheim I see that many people are facing this issue from last few days & I think it will be fixed by Microsoft in upcoming releases.
I will recommend you to raise a support ticket with Microsoft & report the issues you are facing with collapsible sections.

- CallistusCopper ContributorKeep in mind you are working within the browser, so, browser, screen resolution, window size, and zoom level can all play a part in how things are rendered on screen. I am NOT saying that's the cause but it is something to note.
- vnorheimCopper ContributorNot the cause

Hello, I finally saw this feature being available on our end, but it was rather disappointing to find out that it is broken. When I choose 'Left' for the collapsable icon position, it appears on the top of the heading text. When I choose 'Right' for it, it appears on the bottom of the heading text... Does anyone see this? What is going on?
- ALDINA3003Brass Contributor
Same thing happening here.. ahhhh Rie0205 all this time waiting for this and still! Come on dear partners.. clean this up please!
- richardmeehanCopper ContributorSo Collapsible sections have been changed this week so the heading of one now shows as a top level heading only (previously they were out of the headings structure). Anyone know if this was a mistake or if there are plans to allow choice? Pretty unuseable if only top level heading is allowed.
- AGoneauBrass ContributorWe noticed yesterday that all of a sudden the headings of all the collapsible sections are now HUGE, with no option to size them down. It's looks terrible. I really hope it doesn't stay that way. It would be great if we could choose the heading style/size.

I have observed font changes as well & unfortunately there are no settings to control font size from section settings. But, arrow is on same line as headings for me.
I think this is a bug in recent release from Microsoft & it will be fixed in upcoming releases.
You can try raising support ticket with Microsoft & suggest to make it as it was before. Hope Microsoft will fix this in next updates.

- rnelson25Copper Contributorwe just seen this as well today. What in the world is going on? Hope this is not permanent because this looks terrible now.
