SharePoint Online - Permissions replace document

Hello,
i have a problem on a SharePoint Online site.
I set up a permissions group, the user should be able to upload and replace documents but not edit the documents.
Users can upload and delete the documents, but replace documents with the same name is not working. does anyone have an idea?
Is the option to replace a document part of the permission setting edit elements?
