SharePoint modern site search results

Hey people

I've built a modern SharePoint intranet site in an office 365 provided SharePoint platform. I have a "who's who" page with the people web part used to display company staff. Because i couldn't figure out a way of having something that searches the page, i just added a search button that links to _layouts/15/search.aspx/people but the problem with this is that for some reason its not in alphabetical order, and i cant figure out how to change this. some things Microsoft do don't make much sense! Would appreciate any help please 🙂
